It carries the ISSN 0012-7086 and is classified under K4 .U63 in the Library of Congress system. The journal traces its origins back to 1951, when it first appeared as the Duke Bar Journal. Initially made up entirely of student-written and student-edited contributions, it began publishing faculty scholarship in 1953.
