Everything seems like just another day, but before dinner is over, a crime will turn the fate of the entire family upside down.
Atonement is the story of this crime and the subsequent remorse. Through the thread of consciousness of victims and culprits, the novel travels through time from 1935 to the present, passing through the horrors of World War II, and recreating childhood dreams, unexpected twists of fate, and the vulnerability of human nature.
