El interés por la magia y el ocultismo le llevaron a ingresar en Golden Dawn, sociedad secreta relacionada con la secta de los rosacruces. Vlad El Empalador, un misterioso noble rumano del siglo XV, le inspiró Drácula, novela de terror, popular gracias a las distintas adaptaciones cinematográficas.

Jonathan Harker travels to Count Dracula's castle in the Carpathian Mountains to discuss the purchase of a house in London. The place and the appearance of his host are disturbing; the strange and chilling events that have occurred to him since his arrival in Transylvania make him wonder if he is not losing his mind. However, his sudden illness and, above all, Lucy's death confirm his suspicions about the count's vampirism.

The Irishman Bram Stoker (Dublin 1847-London 1912) studied Exact Sciences and alternated his work as a civil servant with his literary vocation. His interest in magic and occultism led him to join the Golden Dawn, a secret society related to the Rosicrucian sect. Vlad the Impaler, a mysterious Romanian nobleman from the fifteenth century, inspired him to write Dracula, a horror novel popularized by various film adaptations.
