Summary: It has been two decades since greenways began to be established in Catalonia. The platforms of old local or mining trains that had been abandoned and were devoured by vegetation and degradation were recovered for citizen use. Thus, eminently flat routes were invaded by walkers, cyclists and even horse riders. Car-free paths, with wooden railings in places that could be a little risky, with benches to sit on and fountains to quench your thirst, with old stations converted into bars, restaurants or information centers. And, at the back, there were bicycle rental companies, accommodation, and the phenomenon grew, although the same cannot be said of the network of greenways. Certainly, we have a very limited one.
