Libertad de elegir es más que reeditar un clásico. Es un homenaje a la sencillez y a la eficacia con las que Milton Friedman explicaba y defendía las mejores ideas, que son las ideas de la libertad. Es una invitación a las generaciones más jóvenes a conocer, sin intermediarios ni prejuicios, cómo y por qué Friedman argumenta que «la libertad garantiza la posibilidad de que los desfavorecidos de hoy sean los privilegiados de mañana». Esta reedición es también un tributo a quien explicó, mejor que nadie, los errores en política económica que llevaron a la Gran Depresión; y a quien ofreció medidas atrevidas a favor de los más débiles como el impuesto negativo sobre la renta o el bono escolar.

Freedom to Choose is more than a reissue of a classic. It is a tribute to the simplicity and effectiveness with which Milton Friedman explained and defended the best ideas—the ideas of freedom. It is an invitation to younger generations to discover, without intermediaries or prejudice, how and why Friedman argues that "freedom ensures the possibility for today's disadvantaged to become tomorrow's privileged."

Reissuing Freedom to Choose also means sharing Friedman's assertions, such as: "Our society is what we make of it. We can design our institutions. Nothing prevents us, if we so desire, from building a society that preserves and fosters human freedom, one that knows how to keep the role of the State in check, making it our servant rather than our master."

This reissue is also a tribute to the man who explained, better than anyone, the economic policy mistakes that led to the Great Depression; and who proposed bold measures in favor of the most vulnerable, such as the negative income tax and school vouchers.
